Each student wrote a line which had to include a fictional character’s name, a city or country and a colour.

Our audio engineer students (well done BJ, Jiya, Zoe and particularly Liam and Jack) then recorded the lines being read by each student and mixed in some soundtrack music and loops. A big day of work, well done to all of you – you all worked really hard. *YAWN* Don’t know about you kids, but I’m having a nap before the Grand Final Preview.

Hi. It’s Jiya here with another blog – and a podcast

This week we have been making a class song in Mixcraft and this is the way we did it. We clicked on the program Mixcraft and then clicked on library which is on the bottom of the screen. And in there is a whole heap of of diffrent styles and musical instruments. One of the styles we used was Techno. We chose some loops and we also recorded a poem that one of my classmates wrote. This poem is called This Is Just To Say, a famous poem by William Carlos Williams, that Mr G had us all work off it. Each table had a go, adding and making different parts of the podcast. This is our first song so please stay in touch for more.

Today we had a talk about why Mr Gamble thinks we are capable of doing things. Thats why we’re doing podcasting and blogging. On the first day of school Mr Gamble’s first impression of us was that we were willing to have a go at anything (even his funny yoga stretches). Then along came some extra activities such as Water Safety, Wilson’s Prom Camp and The Radio Show and then that’s when we proved to Mr Gamble that we were willing to have a go at anything. Now we want you to sent us some comments about when one of the 6Bers you know was willing to have a go.

Today in class we had a discussion about podcasting. Our teacher Mr Gamble went to the city to learn more about podcasting and computers. Because we have began blogging and loving it. Mr Gamble got $2,000 to get eigher 4 laptops or 20 mp3 players, or anything else to do with podcasting or computers.

In the third and fourth terms we will be starting podcasting and will have some full-on awesome shows and talks. We will put our amazing poems and circle stories in our talks to make our talks more interesting.

Two bits of Work:

1. Write a story that uses this video as inspiration. IT CAN BE ANYTHING YOU WANT (about the fox, the song, teachers doing conferences). It might be funny…

Write it, then post it as a comment to this blog post. Take turns on the middle room, or you can check if the computer room is free and ask your sub teacher to take you there to do it. Once you’ve posted, you can comment on other people’s stories. You could use their story as a prompt or inspiration.

2. Use your maths scrapbook to create an “I CAN DO MATHS” – subtraction strategies. 1 double page of strategies, just like we did with addition. Spend 1/2hr individually working on it, then share, then work some more. See how many different strategies you can get. Which ones are best? Why?

If your sub teacher lets thinks you’ve done an awesome job, you may post some of your strategies to the blog!

This is 6B’s birth into the cyber-world. Our digital baby!

We are about to begin a wonderful adventure as we start podcasting some of our POETRY and other creative writing. Our little infant (had enough of that image?!) will grow as we work through this project, as we record our journey.

Each week we’ll post how we are going. It will include pictures and eventually this’ll be the spot where our podcasts will exist. Yay.
